Fried Green Tomatoes

Green tomatoes from the garden

Sliced up on setting 3 with the PC Simple Slicer

SR flour, season salt, pepper, and 3-4 eggs. You can also use cornmeal instead of flour and buttermilk instead of eggs.

Heat up bacon grease or olive oil in cast iron skillet.

Very easy and delish!

 

Just remember to dip them using the dry-wet-dry order. Flour, then egg mix, then flour again.  I used about 2 cups of flour and seasoned to taste with the season salt and pepper.  I also added dried parsley leaves for a little color and extra flavor.

 

I fried them with the stove set on medium heat (5).  A few minutes on each side until they are golden brown.

 

great comfort food.  Very inexpensive to make.
